Hysenbeat – My Songs

These are my own Lyrics.
(I translated songs from other artists, but I can not publish them here because of legal restrictions.)

These are the lyrics I wrote on existing songs, but not referring to the original lyrics, but giving it a different direction:

*) “Stolpersteine” – stumbling stones – is an art project developed by German sculpturer Gunter Demnig, spreading over the years into many greater cities of Germany, consisiting of a pavement stone made of brass, placed in front of houses, where in the fascist era of Germany jewish people had lived, until they were deported and mostly murdered. The stone contains names and dates of the former residents and reports their fate. It is considered a part of German culture of remembering. The Song “Spiegelwand” has the same theme, since on the wall of mirrors mentioned there, there are excerpts from deportation lists engraved, names and addresses of jewish people that were abducted and murdered in concentration camps, with the same intention.

**) This title is a hard to translate word game, referring to a quote of the former president of the radical right wing party AfD, Alexander Gauland, in which he announced, that they would take their land back, now they are moving into parliament. Besides this the term “Gau” was used in the Nazi era for naming smaller areas of land, like rural areas with small towns or quarters of big cities, which were supervised politically by a “Gauleiter” (-leader) from the Nazi party. Nomen est omen, right?
